Huazhen Lin is a Professor at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) and Director of the Center of Statistical Research. She is an inaugural New Cornerstone Investigator and a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS Fellow). She has been selected for several prestigious national talent programs: she is a recipient of the State Council Government Special Allowance and of the Ministry of Education's Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, and was named among the first cohort of Sichuan Province's Renowned Teachers for Educating and Nurturing Students.

Her main research interests include interpretable deep learning theory, AI-driven statistical theory and methods, domain adaptation of large language models, efficient model inference and compression, nonparametric methods, survival data analysis, functional and spatio-temporal data analysis, and latent variable analysis. Her research has been published in leading academic journals including the Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA), the Annals of Statistics (AoS), the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series B (JRSSB), and Biometrika. She currently serves as an Associate Editor of JASA, and has previously served as an Associate Editor or editorial board member of Biometrics, the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, and other journals.

Professor Lin currently serves as a Board Member of the International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA), a member of the IMS Committee on Fellows, Vice President of the Chinese Association for Applied Statistics (CAAS), Chair of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Branch of CAAS, and Vice President of the Chinese Association for Industrial Statistics Teaching.
